Horizon Forbidden West Gameplay Shows Off New Action and Threats

The latest State of Play presentation gave players a look at Horizon Forbidden West in action, offering a gorgeous look at the new story.

The gameplay footage for Horizon Forbidden West has given us a whole lot to think about. On top of looking damn gorgeous, we also get a look at some all new gameplay features and story elements. From new mechanical monsters to battle (and Raiders who have also found a way to control/work with them), to a new grappling hook and glider mechanic, Forbidden West looks like a step forward in every way.

This is, by no means, and easy feat. Zero Dawn is an incredible game and easily one of the best titles from that generation. Improving upon that game feels almost impossible. And yet, based off this gameplay footage, I’m inclined to believe that’s exactly what they’ve done.

I’m really digging everything about this. I love the new story elements where Aloy must figure out what new blight is threatening the world. The glider and grappling hook look like they’ll be a ridiculous amount of fun to play around with and fight various enemies. All in all, my hype is through the roof and my PlayStation needs this now.

Horizon Forbidden West is slated to hit both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
