Matt Mercer to Play Vincent Valentine in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

It was confirmed at New York Comic Con that Vincent Valentine will be voiced by Matt Mercer in the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

When a teaser for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was recently revealed, sharp-eared fans noticed a familiar voice seemed to be portraying Vincent Valentine. Many swore up and down that Valentine’s voice had been portrayed by Matt Mercer, known for many voice roles as well as being the Dungeon Master of Critical Role.

This speculation has now been confirmed to be true, as Mercer himself confirmed during an NYCC panel yesterday that he was indeed playing Vincent Valentine in the upcoming game.

As you can see below, this announcement was very well received:

Vincent is an iconic companion character from the original Final Fantasy 7, so it will be interesting to see what all Mercer brings to the role.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is set to release on February 29, 2024.
