New Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Trailer Reveals New Characters

Bandai Namco have revealed a fresh look at Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero which confirms new fighters on the roster and oodles of new gameplay footage.

Serving as a sequel to the iconic Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series, fans are understandably eager for any and all news related to Sparking! Zero. Today, Bandai Namco has given players a new look at the game thanks to a Master and Apprentice trailer.

It’s insane how gorgeous this game looks. Even as someone who isn’t big on fighting games (as in I’m terrible at them), I’ve always loved the Budokai games and how it balanced story and action together. Sparking! Zero, from what little we’ve seen, definitely feels like a successor to those games in every sense of the word.

In an epic series of battles between iconic master and apprentice pairings Piccolo and Gohan, Master Roshi and Krillin, and more, the new trailer reveals the latest additions to the playable character list, including:

Gohan (Kid)

Gohan (Adult)

Gohan (Future)

Gohan (Future), Super Saiyan

Trunks (Sword)

Trunks (Sword), Super Saiyan

Videl

Beerus

Whis

Master Roshi

Developed by Spike Chunsoft, the developers behind the original BUDOKAI TENKAICHI series, DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO brings the series forward to a new era by harnessing the power of Unreal® Engine 5 and pushing the envelope for gameplay and features in an arena brawler. The game brings the franchise back to the original Japanese naming convention, where the original DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI was titled DRAGON BALL Z: Sparking! The game’s gravity-defying fights capture each DRAGON BALL character’s signature destructive powers and Ki abilities showcased in stunning detail with damage capable of destroying entire parts of the arena.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PCs at…some point. Hopefully soon.
