Paradox Announces Cities Skylines 2 And Sims Competitor Life By You

Paradox is taking on the giant EA with new simulation games heading our way soon!

During the Paradox announcement show we got a ton of new announcements including 3 new games, and a bunch of new expansions.

The first major announcement came in the form of Cities Skylines 2. The game promises to expand on everything the first hit title did and dive deeper into customization. New features include an in-depth look at traffic flow and economics, and more fine tuning behind the development of cities. They also mention there will be several new customization features, and promise to explore the mod world even further. The game will be exclusive to PS5 / Xbox Series X | S / and PC, so last gen console users will need an upgrade.

You can check out our review of the remastered game here.

A second announcement, and the announcement that has me totally hype is a new game to take on The Sims, Life By You.

The game is looking to be fully revealed on March 20th via the official Youtube channel. For now we got a quick teaser which seems to show the core game will follow in line of Cities with in-depth customization, oh and it looks like Pets are included!

The game is being developed by Paradox Tectonic which is led by Rod Humble. For those that don’t know, Rod is best known for leading Sims 2 DLC, along with being one of the original leads for Sims 3 before leaving Maxis to work with Will Wright (creator of Sims) at Second Life. The game has been in development for several years now, and with Sims 3 being arguably better than Sims 4, call me hyped!

The last game announced during the showcase was The Lamplighters.

The game is developed by Harebrained Schemes and is a turn based strategy title with decisions impacting the world around you. According to the description all your decisions morph the world in both good and bad ways. The game is releasing exclusively on PC and Xbox Series X | S.

Along with the three new reveals a bunch of expansions and added smaller games were also shown. Read about them all below, then come back and get excited for Life By You on March 20th!
