Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Adds Character Customization and More

This morning brought a fresh look at Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, revealing new features for the remake and a release date!

During this morning’s Pokemon Presents presentation, fans were treated to a brand new trailer, and details, for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Folks, it’s looking pretty damn great and even better, we now know when exactly we’ll be getting these remakes: November 19, 2021.

This is looking good. I know not everyone was on board with our first look at the game, but I’m definitely digging what they’ve got going on in this trailer. I love the graphic style they’re going with that manages to feel “modern” while retaining the vibe of the original DS games.

The trailer also shows off some of the new features coming to the game as well. There’s the Grand Underground, which let’s you explore, dig up fossils, and even create secret bases you can decorate. Part of this “Underground” are areas where monsters run around freely and will change out depending on the statues you use to decorate your base.

Online Battling is, obviously, new and looks pretty great. Fans will also be able to customize their characters’ outfits, bringing it more in line with modern entries in the franchise. Hell, you can even customize the Poke-ball and effects that happen with a Pokemon pops out of the ball!

Considering the original games (which make up the 4th generation of the franchise) were what got me back into Pokemon in general, I’m pretty excited to play these remakes. Just feed them straight to me when they launch on November 19th.

Will you be picking up Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl this Fall?
