SPY×ANYA: Operation Memories Gives Pokémon Snap Vibes

Stick with me. Pokémon Snap‘s adventure photography but instead of a Pokémon photographer you’re Anya Forger on a mission to create a photo diary of her life (which is quite interesting for an alleged 6-year-old) for school. It’ll be the first video game for the SPYxFAMILY anime series.

Nintendo announced SPY×ANYA: Operation Memories during the September Nintendo Direct showcase, giving players some gameplay packaged in an adorable trailer that is as wholesome as the game seems to be.

You’ll play as Anya, the adopted child in the Forger family that also includes a spy and an assassin (who are not aware of the other’s profession). Anya has some secrets of her own as well, which I’m sure will add some adventure into the objective of the game — live her life and take photos to document the hijinks and other happenings in her life for a school project.

In the trailer, Anya goes to school on the weekdays and enjoys her weekends at places like the beach and aquarium. The game will also include mini-games and cute costumes, according to the game’s description.

Fingers crossed we get some of Loid and Yor’s excitement in the mix, but overall it seems to be an adorable game allowing fans of the anime to really fit themselves into the Forger’s little slice of life.

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories is expected to release on the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2025.
