Hasbro and Robosen’s next (real life) Transformer is none other than evil Decepticon, Soundwave, who’s up for pre-order now.
Robosen and Hasbro continue their collaborative efforts together, much to the delight of fans (but maybe not their wallets). These give collectors actual working robots who can transform on their own and perform a host of preprogrammed tasks while letting owners make up their own set of movements. They’re pretty damn great and I still can’t believe the quality on the Optimus Prime I was able to test out.
Earlier this year, they announced Megatron was joining the line alongside Optimus, Bumblebee, and Grimlock. Now, you’ll be able to add another Decepticon to the ranks with Soundwave! Who actually transforms into a cassette player that works as a bluetooth speaker. Plus, it’s got some new hotness on the inside to make it’s robotics even more impressive.
Soundwave joins the ever-growing cast of TRANSFORMERS robots to be launched by the globally recognized team at Robosen. Merging cutting edge technology and nostalgic design, Robosen brings the cult classic Decepticon spy to life with incredible detail and precise execution. Megatron can now turn to his most trusted commander with this G1 Flagship Soundwave, who enters the battle in an effort to defeat Autobots Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Grimlock, all of which are already available in the market for order.
Robosen’s Flagship Soundwave, the second Decepticon collectible within the range, is now available for pre-order at Robosen.com and will soon be available on HasbroPulse.com, and will retail on pre-sale for $999 USD for a 30-day window before moving to its standard price of $1,399.

After years of dedicated R&D, the talented team at Robosen has successfully produced an exact replica of the iconic cassette player turned Decepticon gladiator, with a host of new servo technologies and upgraded algorithms, Soundwave breaks into the scene with life-like actions and sinister commands.
This robot is truly More Than Meets The Eye, as it also doubles as a functional Bluetooth speaker while in cassette mode! Stream your favorite music while Soundwave adorns your desktop, and skip through, pause and play all with the front facing retro tape deck buttons. Take your interaction even further by utilizing the integrated recording feature, which allows you to record your own audio with the click of its buttons.

Adorned with an animated, glowing sonic cannon, and equipped with a neutron assault rifle – Soundwave’s authenticity doesn’t stop there. Robosen commissioned the one and only Frank Welker, the original G1 voice of Soundwave, to record over 200+ lines for this project. Each phrase by Frank’s legandary voice is further accentuated by Scott Brownlee’s engineering mastery – creating the exact 1984 sound, ensuring lines like “Destroy Autobots” and “Soundwave superior, Autobots inferior” ring true to any fan and collector!
Robosen takes its innovation to the next level, with the addition of articulating hip-joints, enabling theiconic and dynamic conversion, poses, and actions of Soundwave, which helps to create a more lifelike and fluid robotic experience! Blending 80’s nostalgia and modern design, red lit accents are highlighted by premium materials like zinc alloy, aluminum and ABS, for a perfectly recreated TRANSFORMERS bot.

Equipped with 84 high-performance chipsets and 28 precision-built servo-motors, Soundwave is an engineering marvel to watch, as it converts from spy to robot, right before your eyes.
The Flagship Soundwave is currently up for Pre-Order on Robosen (with HasbroPulse soon to follow). If you’re interested, better get your order in now as the pre-sale price is $999 USD for a 30-day window before moving to its standard price of $1,399.
