Cover Revealed for ‘A Court of Silver Flames’, New Release Date Revealed

We finally have the official cover of Sarah J. Maas’ newest book A Court of Silver Flames, along with a new release date!

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the newest book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series would be titled A Court of Silver Flames. Now, we finally know what the cover of this new book will look like and it’s…not what I was expecting.

You can see the official cover below:

It’s pretty, but it’s also a departure from the covers of previous ACOTAR novels. For example, this is the cover of the first book, A Court of Thorns and Roses:

And this is the cover of the second book, A Court of Mist and Fury:

See the pattern? The covers usually feature a female character just to the side of the cover and based on the reaction I think fans of the series were expecting the same for A Court of Silver Flames. Instead, this new book cover is more in line with the artwork of the re-released editions that feature more abstract covers. The main complaint is that now the series won’t match for those who bought the earlier editions. That may be so, but one can’t deny that this new cover is beautiful.

Along with the cover reveal, there’s also an updated release date for when the book will arrive. Originally, A Court of Silver Flames was scheduled to be released on January 26, 2021. Now, it’s been revealed that the book’s release date has been pushed back a few weeks to February 16, 2021. This is mostly because of production issues caused by the ongoing pandemic, and fortunately it’s only a delay of a couple weeks.

What do you think of the cover for A Court of Silver Flames? Let us know!
