Star Wars: The High Republic Show dropped a surprise mid-month episode today and host Krystina Arielle revealed a ton of The High Republic Wave 3 covers including first looks at The Fallen Star, Midnight Horizon, and Mission to Disaster!
Wave 3 of The High Republic books and comics were announced this past summer during the San Diego Comic-Con@Home panel but no covers were revealed, well, that’s all changed now. Arielle not only dropped covers for the three books we can expect in the third and final wave of this fist phase, but a buttload of comic book covers as well as a few other juicy bits.
So yes, we finally get a look at the cover art for Claudia Gray’s The Fallen Star, Justina Ireland’s Mission to Disaster, and Daniel José Older’s Midnight Horizon, and as has been the case all along, these covers are top notch. We also got a look at a ton of comic book covers including the first issue of Marvel’s The High Republic: The Eye of the Storm, a two-shot comic series that will dig into the history of Marchion Ro, as well as cover art for Star Wars: The High Republic #13 and Star Wars: Trail of Shadows #4. And even though volume one came out to little fanfare, we got a look at the cover for VIZ Media’s The Edge of Balance Vol. 2, this time with Daniel José Older teaming up with Shima Shinya for some hot Star Wars manga action. I highly recommend picking up Volume 1 written by Justina Ireland, it’s excellent.
Arielle as also dropped covers for IDW’s Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Annual — which includes stories from the five architects, Charles Soule, Cavan Scott, Gray, Ireland, and Older as well as art from Sam Beck, Jason Loo, Yael Nathan, Jesse Lonegran, and Stefano Simone, arriving this December. And last but certainly not least we got a look Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #11 and two new character posters as well.
