It’s an odd phenomenon, falling in love with a character written for the screen. Odder too, to be crying for them, laughing at them, priding their achievement; scowling their shortcomings... You’re invested in the giving of many, the bit the writer’s and directors have given of themselves, and the crews perceptions of those things... When these people love what they do -- it rubs off, you're falling in love with the pieces they’ve shed. Something like that happens in Manchester By The Sea, the latest, great, American Drama.
Going into Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book I was very excited, to say the absolute least. In my top five most anticipated films of the year. For starters Jon Favreau is one of my favorite directors to watch. I have yet to see one of his films that I have not liked. Not to mention I felt Iron Man 3 was missing his direction and storytelling. Add in a stellar cast of Sir Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken, Gary Shandling (may he rest in peace), and of course, Bill F’n Murray.
This film is all-star packed. With what looked to be some of the greatest graphics ever laid down on film. But the question still stood, how was the execution? Did this voice cast distract from the film? Was the story put together properly? And most importantly, how did newcomer Neel Sethi perform? For this movie hinges on his ability to bring the heart and soul of film, seeing as he was the only actor on set.

While so much of DC’s animated releases have focused on more adult stories for fans, Animal Instincts was designed with a younger audience in mind so everyone in the house can enjoy. Does it succeed and managed to still be fun? Come inside to check out my full review to see!
Initially I was surprised at the almost complete lack of buzz for Last Knights. It has Morgan Freeman in it so what could go wrong, right? Yet in spite of having both an actor of legendary status such as Freeman, well-known actor Clive Owen, and some pretty nice action scenes somehow the film manages to be uninspired. Read further to find out why.
Kenneth Branagh’s live-action adaptation of the classic fairytale, Cinderella, is hitting theaters this weekend and inviting a new generation to get caught up in the magical story. It’s a story that’s been retold a number of times, so how does Disney’s newest version stack up? Check out my full review to find out!
