Andy Serkis has become the first star to master the new art form of Motion Capture acting. Not many people know that James Franco has a cameo appearance in director Matt Reeves’ upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. James Franco was one of the people who were unaware of this fact. Franco was surprised by the news that his character from the first film, Will Rodman, has a “posthumous cameo via video".
There are some amazing actors out there who can make you feel things you never expected to while watching a movie. More than simply moving the story along, they give you a reason to root for them (even if they’re bad guys), and make it feel as though you’re living the experience right along with them. And then there are actors so amazing, they can do all of this without ever seeing their face. Andy Serkis is one such actor, and his portrayal of Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, ranks among my favorite performances of all time.
About a week ago, it was revealed that Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt might be backing out of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to the 2011 hit sci-fi film. At that time, it was a rumor. But now, it seems all but official: Rupert Wyatt will not be returning to direct the next entry in the Apes franchise. And Fox, always prepared, has a shortlist of directors to replace him.
Another Apes movie will hit in 2014! It will be a madhouse!
