The LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina Has Arrived!

Today, Lucasfilm and LEGO revealed their most villainous and wretched Star Wars set to date, the Mos Eisley Cantina!

Looking for some scum and villainy? How about a wretched hive to hang your hat? Well, in the famous words of Obi-Wan Kenobi, “be cautious”, because now you can find all three in safety of your own home! In a partnership that goes back 20+ years, it would seem LEGO and Star Wars have outdone themselves this time with this new expansive and incredibly immersive set.

Part of the Master Builder Series, it consists of 3,187 pieces, comes with 21 minifigures (including everyone from Han and Greedo to various alien patrons you won’t want to mess with), and includes a speeder and dewback, all making for the LEGO Group’s most expansive take ever on the Tatooine watering hole.

Star Wars dot com’s Dan Brooks spoke with Design Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen all about the Mos Eisley Cantina, where he says it’s been a dream for a very long time to make this “super-detailed version” a reality. It was especially important to Jens and his team that the set look just as detailed and accurate on the inside as well as the outside. And it’s details like the Dewback, the Jawa junk shop, and a wide array of minifigures (21!) that helped achieve that accuracy.

And even though it says “18+” on the box, like all LEGO sets, this one is completely immersive and meant for any age group. This is never more true than with the sets not-so-secret back room where YOU get to finally decide who shot first…

The model includes an ejector seat so a minifigure can pop out of the seat when hit by the opponent’s blaster. We have included the function in both Greedo and Han Solo’s seat, so the decision is yours!

You can check out the full interview HERE, but in the meantime, take a closer look at the set below!

The LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina (#75290) set is priced at $349.99 USD and arrives globally October 1. You can find it on LEGO.com and in LEGO Retail Stores with availability for LEGO VIP members on September 16.
