Title, Release Date and More Revealed for Sarah J. Maas’ New Book ‘House of Sky and Breath’

Fans of the fantasy worlds of Sarah J. Maas now have some new information to peruse regarding the next installment in the Crescent City series.

As many suspected (due to a detailed information page at the start of House of Earth and Blood), the next installment in Sarah J. Maas’ Crescent City series will officially be titled House of Sky and Breath. Not only that, we also have an official synopsis for the book and it promises to pick up right where the first book left off:

Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar are trying to get back to normal—they may have saved Crescent City, but with so much upheaval in their lives lately, they mostly want a chance to relax. Slow down. Figure out what the future holds. The Asteri have kept their word so far, leaving Bryce and Hunt alone. But with the rebels chipping away at the Asteri’s power, the threat the rulers pose is growing. As Bryce, Hunt, and their friends get pulled into the rebels’ plans, the choice becomes clear: stay silent while others are oppressed, or fight for what’s right. And they’ve never been very good at staying silent.

Unfortunately, while this synopsis gives us a tantalizing hint as to what’s to come in House of Sky and Breath, we’re going to have to wait a bit longer to actually read it. The tentative release date of November 2, 2021 has, not surprisingly, been pushed back to January 25, 2022. Hopefully that release date will stick, as it sounds like the intrigue in Crescent City has only just begun!

There’s still no official cover art for House of Sky and Breath, but at least we now have an idea of what the story will be about, as well as when to expect it.
