It’s been in the bag for a while and after numerous hints and leaks, it is finally real and we are getting the next remake in the Resident Evil franchise.
Summer Games Fest kicked off with a bang as Capcom shot out of the gate with a thrilling new trailer to show off their latest remake. Resident Evil Code: Veronica is coming back with the all new Resident Evil engine making it look incredible as always.
Check out the trailer:
The game is slated for a 2027 release, and based on previous releases we can expect to see it early in the year as well. We can assume future trailers and a revealed date will come in a later event this year.
Several fans have been absolutely begging for Capcom to hit this game, which is often seen as the true follow up of Resident Evil 2, and Capcom has done an incredible job with other remakes. Other rumored games included Resident Evil 5 as well.
The game, of course, follows Claire Redfield after the events of Resident Evil 2 as she searches for her missing brother. She’s then captured by Umbrella and imprisoned in Rockfort Island before being caught in yet another outbreak.
This also comes after the hit success that was RE9, which was the fastest selling game in the franchise to date.
