Planet Zoo was released in 2019 and has since earned a “Very Positive” rating on Steam. Frontier Developments has announced that they are bringing this immersive zoo-building world back in Planet Zoo 2 with some major upgrades. Aquariums, aviaries, and more.
Planet Zoo 2 introduces aquatic and flying animal species, as well as wildlife reserves. Aquariums will be more than just tanks; they will be fully customizable underwater habitats featuring new species such as reef sharks and sea turtles. It will also include filtration systems and airlocks.
Aviaries will house all the new birds included in the game. Full walk-through habitats with support poles and a wide variety of bird species such as toucans, peacocks, and secretary birds.
Players will also be able to take their conservation efforts outside the zoo now with wildlife reserves. Allowing players to engage in conservation projects around the world, revitalize diverse wildlife reserves, and create functional and balanced ecosystems by releasing animals into their natural habitats.
Pre-orders are available now, and those who pre-order will receive the Bonus Content Pack at launch. The pack includes the Toucan Eat Shop and Signage, three unique Animal Donation Bins, and the Tiger Photo Stand-In Wall.
There is also a Deluxe Edition available, which includes the base game, the Bonus Content Pack, six additional animal species, and exclusive animal signs to decorate your park.
Planet Zoo 2 comes out on October 13, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Standard Edition will be $49.99, and the Deluxe Edition will be $ 64.99. More information will be available during the Wholesome Games Showcase on June 6 and at the PC gaming show on June 7.
