Street Fighter 6’s Year Four Brings Three New Faces and One Big Surprise | Watch the Character Reveal Trailer

Capcom almost never misses a chance to deliver during a Summer Game Fest presentation, and between the Resident Evil news and the Monster Hunter Wilds expansion announcement, 2026 was hardly an exception. Not only did this industry titan turn heads as usual with their own flagship game announcements, they managed to turn one of them into the perfect lead-in for what was easily the biggest announcement of the entire event. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

One of the many games that Capcom presented new content for this year was the iconic 2-D fighting game often considered the grandaddy of them all, Street Fighter 6. The game, already going into its fourth year of updates, delivered its latest slew of characters with all the anime-styled fanfare one might expect from the series, except for one major note at the very end:

Now, it has to be recognized that a fighting game to be in its fourth year and still releasing brand-new original characters is a thing worthy of discussion. It’s really interesting to see Bosch, your rival from the World Tour single-player mode, become a full-fledged member of this vaunted roster. Yasmine and Arjun look like fun additions to the game, too. But let’s not act like seeing her front and center wasn’t what got you to click on this link.

That’s right, in a rare collaboration with Square Enix, Capcom is bringing the pugilist resistance fighter and teenage boy fan favorite Tifa Lockhart from the esteemed Final Fantasy VII to Street Fighter 6. Not only that, but the announcement of Tifa’s inclusion was the perfect tee-off to the final trailer of the 2026 presentation, the long-awaited conclusion to the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Revelation.

Even on its own right, Tifa being in Street Fighter is a huge get for the franchise. The rumor mill has been buzzing lately that an FF7 collab was inevitable with one of the major fighting game giants, and who better to carry the torch of such a legacy than a series with its own to match?

The Street Fighter 6 Year 4 Character and Ultimate Passes are available now on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Read on for more information from Capcom about each new fighter, including their general release windows:

  • Yasmine (Summer 2026), a highschooler hailing from the Philippines joins the fight to search for her long-lost brother. Despite her shy and gentle demeanor, Yasmine beams with confidence whenever she uses her crescent-shaped karambit knife to dance around her opponents at high speed just like her Lolo taught her.
  • Arjun (Autumn 2026) uses extraordinary lung capacity combined with yogic breathing to unleash explosive power with his unique Bare-knuckle Yoga techniques. While working as a police officer in India Arjun was accused of killing a colleague and now lives on the run while he searches for the true culprit.
  • Tifa (Early 2027) is a highly skilled practitioner of Zangan-ryu Martial Arts and a member of the “Avalanche” resistance group. During her journey with her companions, she is unexpectedly transported to another world where she encounters and bonds with new fighters. Tifa excels in close-range combat, combining martial arts techniques with unique powers called Abilities.
  • Bosch (Spring 2027) departed his home nation of Nayshall to pursue the true meaning of strength and eventually wins the sacred martial arts tournament. His travels brought him to Metro City where he trained under Luke to incorporate modern combat methods into the ancient techniques of Nayshall’s warrior faith.
