It looks like the annual blow out sale by Limited Run has come to an end as a new format replaces it.
Limited Run Games is known for limited releases of special editions of popular games, exclusive re-releases of classics, and the physical edition of known digital titles. These games often take a while to ship and come at a high price, but they are exciting none-the-less, and are held by the companies name of being limited releases. Each release either has a set number of copies, or only has an exclusive window of opportunity to buy it. Once that ends, it’s gone forever….unless….
Unless Limited Run had some left over copies or canceled orders, in this case the games often showed up at their annual Blowout Sale, which often occurred around February. The blowout sale offered a last attempt to pick up previously released titles and collectors editions that you may have missed out on. Last year it was delayed due to shipping issues with previous orders, but this year it won’t be coming back.
Instead Limited Run has announced the new “LRG Vault,” which will go live on Presidents Day, February 17th. The new storefront will include a “rotating list of games” that have previously gone on sale and will be available for limited leftover supply, similar to the previous sale. It is unclear what exactly will show up, but we assume the first few rotations might be higher value items to get the hype rolling for the store, before Jumaji makes a return…..
In fact they did give a glimpse of what will be available in the first drop which will include their entire lineup of what’s left of Vita titles. They state this is the very last opportunity to pick up any Vita titles by LRG as the line is being entirely discontinued. They will also include the entire stock of the pop up shop, and their physical retail items.
Several other items, including their SoHo Tomb Raider series, will see a sale as well.
So while it is disappointing to see the blowout sale end, I’m excited to maybe get one more chance to buy a game I’ve been eying for some time.
