After its 2011 debut, with over 70 million copies sold and over 10 official collaborations, the beloved game Terraria is celebrating its 15-year anniversary. With the average player having 100 hours or more in the game, we have seen this metroidvania sandbox grow into what it is now.
On their anniversary, the development team took to the forums and social media to celebrate this milestone and discuss the exciting future of Terraria that includes some long-requested improvements to the game.
Terraria is currently on version 1.4.5, and the development team has officially confirmed that the major update for 1.4.6 is crossplay functionality. The team states that this update is coming soon and will release additional information as they go.
The team also teased that they will have more to share about additional ideas and plans coming down the pipeline. This is an excellent sign for those who love Terraria, as the team is showing no signs of slowing down or ending development and updates for this beloved game.
Along with these announcements, they announced some partnerships secured for the 15th anniversary.
