Amazon Studios has secured the rights for a new comedy film.
The unnamed wedding comedy will star Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon, and is written and directed by Nick Stoller (Bros, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Neighbors), according to a report by the Hollywood Reporter. Stoller is currently in production on Platonic, an Apple+ TV series he co-created and is co-showrunning with his wife Francesca Delbanco and stars Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne.
All three are reportedly producing the film under their respective companies, Ferrell with Jessica Elbaum via Gloria Sanchez Productions; Witherspoon with with Lauren Neustadter via Hello Sunshine; and Stoller with his Global Solutions shingle partner Conor Welch.
