We recently had the chance to sit down and chat with Amber Midthunder, the star of Prey, all about her experience and training for the new Predator movie!

As a Native American myself, I was thrilled to have the chance to talk to Amber Midthunder (a member of the Fort Peck Sioux tribe) about Prey. With the story of the new Predator movie centered on Native Americans, we discussed how her experience on a set filled with fellow Natives, differed from her previous roles. We also chatted about the training involved in become the new “Arnold” of the franchise, and even snuck in a brief discussion of Bigfoot!

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

Prey streams exclusively on Hulu August 5, 2022.
