Pedro Pascal in Talks to Play Fantastic Four’s Reed Richards

We may finally know who’ll be the first member of Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four film, as Pedro Pascal is the studios’ top pick to portray Reed Richards.

Before the SAG-AFTRA strikes, the rumors surrounding the Fantastic Four casting were all over the place. It’s been a hot topic since the film was formally announced, as comic fans are eager to see the first family of superheroes finally join the MCU. With the strike effectively over, casting is heating up all over the place and it looks like Marvel has zeroed in on an actor to play Reed Richards: Pedro Pascal.

The man can’t help but gather up iconic nerd franchises (Game of Thrones, Star Wars, The Last of Us, even DC) like Thanos and the Infinity Stones. Not that I’m complaining, the man could be in literally anything and I’ll be here for it.

While the deal isn’t done at the moment, talks have been happening hard and currently Marvel’s top pick for the role. The news initially came from notable scooper Daniel RPK and later followed up with confirmations from the trades.

If all goes well, I suspect we’ll get a formal announcement from Marvel soon as they seem eager to get the ball rolling on this film ASAP with the strikes over. Perhaps they’ll wait until all of the other family members are cast as well, but it sounds like they’re closing in on those too. Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to get all of them locked and announced before the holidays.

Fantastic Four is currently set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025.
