Not long after the recent announcement confirming the production of Spaceballs 2, Deadline reported exciting new casting information to go alongside it! According to their sources, Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis intend to reprise their roles as Lone Starr and Dark Helmet, respectively. Also joining the cast is Keke Palmer, of Nope and One of Them Days fame.

Though Amazon has declined to comment one way or another, this is a huge boost in hype to an already-hyped new release. Having the original protagonist and antagonist back to face off again would be iconic. Unless they don’t! If the new movie is seeking to continue parodying a certain Science-Fantasy megafranchise we all know and love, then there’s ample material to draw from and poke fun at.
Spaceballs 2, which also stars Mel Brooks returning as Yogurt, is set to release in theaters in 2027.
