Annie Wersching Cast as Borg Queen for Season 2 of ‘Star Trek: Picard’

We’re getting more Borg in Star Trek: Picard, as Annie Wersching has been cast as the Borg Queen for the show’s upcoming second season.

It was revealed earlier today that Annie Wersching has been cast in a recurring role as the Borg Queen for the second season of Star Trek: Picard. The role was previously played by Alice Krige in Star Trek: First Contact and by Susanna Thompson in Star Trek: Voyager.

Given that this season is also featuring the return of John de Lancie as Q, season two of Star Trek: Picard looks set to be pretty amazing. The new season will follow Picard into the next stage of his life after the huge events that took place at the conclusion of season one.

I can’t help but wonder what role the Borg Queen will play in the story. It will be interesting to see if the show references Picard’s time as ‘Locutus of Borg’ or if the Borg Queen is being brought in for a different reason entirely.

Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard is set to release in 2022 on Paramount+.
