Nicholas Britell to Score ‘Andor’ for Disney+

It’s been learned that composer Nicholas Britell will be scoring the upcoming prequel series Andor for Disney+.

Among the many Star Wars series being developed for Disney+, one of the ones we’ve known the least about is Andor, the prequel series that will flesh out the backstory of Diego Luna’s ill-fated Cassian Andor. While plot details are still under wraps, we have learned that composer Nicholas Britell will be scoring the series.

Britell has scored some impressive films in the past, including Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk, Cruella, and Vice, so the Andor series will be in very capable hands. What I’m curious to see is if Britell borrows from any of Michael Giacchino’s Rogue One score while putting the music for Andor together.

There’s no firm release date for Andor yet, but the series is expected to premiere sometime in 2022.
