Forspoken Release Pushed Back to October

Athia will have to wait.

Today, Square Enix and Luminous Productions released a statement that their upcoming RPG, Forspoken, has been delayed until October. Last year, the studio revealed that the game would release in May, but have since made the decision to move the release to October 11, 2022 to buy more time to polish the game further.

As with any delay, it’s good that the studio recognized that the game wasn’t yet up to their standards and that they wouldn’t be by May. We can only hope now that pushing Forspoken back to October won’t lead to more crunch for Luminous Productions and any other Square Enix employee involved.

Forspoken will release on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 11, 2022.
