During the first day at SDCC23 (San Diego Comic Con) Insomniac was on hand to release some new details about the upcoming sequel.
A PS5 limited Edition Spider-Man bundle will release September 1st. It has a custom design Spider-Man shell for PS5 and a Venom styled controller. The bundle and controller will be available for pre-order next Friday.
UPDATE: Revealed on the PlayStation Blog. You can also purchase the controller and Spider-Man PS5 plates separate from the bundle itself. Pre-orders go live next Friday at select retailers and PlayStation Direct.
Some minor news (and potential spoilers) for the game were also revealed.
The story takes place 9-10 months after Miles game. Peter and Miles know their powers extremely well, but are dealing with life issues. Peter is “pushing people away.”
Martin Li is returning, Insomniac noting it was “truly amazing” to see him return.
Eddie Brock is in the game, but is confirmed to not be Venom.
“It’s a simple human story. We all have a darkness inside of us. So we started with that, and when you have somebody like Peter Parker…he has this power, and he starts pushing people away.”
