ROCCAT Debuts First Studio-Grade USB Microphone ‘Torch’

A new high-quality studio-grade USB microphone is set to break into the market this August. It’s called the Torch. It’s ROCCAT‘s first microphone of its kind and it offers loads of impressive features.

In 2021 alone, ROCCAT has released a wireless PC Gaming headset in the Syn Pro Air, two new Kone gaming mice (Kone Pro and Kone Pro Air), and two gaming keyboards in the Magma and Pyro. Now, they’re breaking into the competitive world of sound with a brand new studio-quality microphone, aptly called the Torch.

“The Torch’s distinct look, pro-level performance, and attractive price make it perfect to grow with you as you chase your streaming and content creation passions,” said René Korte, ROCCAT Founder and General Manager for PC peripherals at Turtle Beach. “Gamers watch their favorite streamers and are inspired to create content themselves, and a studio-grade microphone is no longer a luxury, it’s a must-have accessory. We’re excited to enter a new PC peripheral category with the Torch, and to deliver another high-performance accessory that adds to our desktop ecosystem.”

The Torch was designed first and foremost for streamers and content creators. As such, it features three pre-selected pick up patterns to adapt to broadcasting needs. Patterns such as Cardioid for streamers, Stereo for musicians, and an exclusive pattern known as Whisper that captures the quietest of voices, which could be good for podcasting. What makes the Torch even more intriguing is the fact that it doesn’t require any drivers. That way, users can access these patterns right out of the box.

This USB microphone features a dual-condenser design, offering 24-bit audio with up to 48kHz sampling. That’s a fancy way of saying that it can capture pretty much any voice and broadcast it perfectly. Furthermore, the Torch also includes Gesture-activated mute functionality to provide a convenient way to instantly mute without disturbing the quality of the recorded content.

The Torch also has mixer-style controls to allow users to tune settings, control volume, and cycle through the different patterns easily, without having to install a single driver. Plus, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack for latency-free Mic Monitoring. All in all, it appears the Torch will allow users to customize their sound to their liking.

Speaking of customizing, the Torch also sports full compatibility with a wide variety of boom arms. Additionally, it will also feature ROCCAT’s AIMO RGB lighting. That’s a hefty amount of features and customizability for just one microphone.

ROCCAT’s Torch will release on August 15, 2021 for $99.99. Pre-ordering is open as of today, here.
