We’ve featured a number of display monitors here on the site, but this is easily among the coolest. SPUD is currently up on Kickstarter, but don’t let that scare you off, as the project has already blasted past its funding goal. It was in the $40,000 region when I started this article, and at the time of posting, is already in the $60,000 neighborhood. SPUD is the only high resolution, 24-inch display with the awesome benefit of ultra-portability. The 24-inch display is the size of a large desk monitor, with almost 4x more screen area than a 13-inch laptop screen, and 23x more screen area than a 5.1-inch smartphone! The screen is also highly durable. Unlike breakable glass screens, SPUD uses a flexible polymer that can’t get cracked or chipped. If you happen to get it dirty, it’s washable. Further, the attached casing keeps your SPUD protected as you take it wherever life takes you.
When SPUD is collapsed, it’s about the size of a book: 5.64 inches wide, 2.17 inches high, 7.52 inches long (17 cm wide, 5.5 cm high, 19 cm long).
