Focal Point: Ultra HD Snobbery

Some betrayals are hard to forgive in this week’s edition of the Focal Point webcomic!

There is absolutely no denying that I’m a “snob” when it comes to my movies. I’m not talking about genre’s and all that, I’m talking about how I watch them at home. Sadly, it is not an idea shared by everyone in the house…

I’ve always been this way, always had to have the best video presentation possible on the movies I got. Back in the days of the VHS era, I’d specifically ask for the Widescreen versions when it came to birthday/Christmas gifts, in order to avoid the terror of Pan-and-Scan. When DVD’s came out, I jumped on that new hotness and updated my library from VHS as quickly as possible. The same happened with Blu-ray and so on.

Amazingly my girlfriend, along with most of the people in my house absolutely do not care. They’ll watch movies with whatever is available, even grabbing the DVD over the Blu-ray because it was closer/easier. It sets my eye to twitching.

It’s dumb and silly, but something that’s always been a thing for me. As such, it seems to be the perfect fodder for a comic strip! I hope you enjoyed this week’s Focal Point, and if you did, be sure to check out the previous ones.
