Star Wars: The High Republic Books Delayed to 2021

The highly anticipated new era of Star Wars (at least in book form) won’t be starting up this Summer as previously announced.

Earlier this year, Lucasfilm revealed details on their major publishing initiative, The High Republic! From books, to comics, our first look at the heroes and villains, and the various authors, there was plenty to look forward to.

Sadly, due to the ongoing world events, today Lucasfilm has announced the release dates on those initial High Republic books have been pushed back into next year:

Star Wars: The High Republic: Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule – January 5, 2021

Star Wars: The High Republic: A Test of CourageĀ by Justina Ireland – January 5, 2021

Star Wars: The High Republic: Into the DarkĀ by Claudia Gray – February 2, 2021

The upcoming Marvel and IDW High Republic comic series have been delayed as well, but no new dates have been given for those. While it’s certainly a bummer, it’s totally understandable and should lead to some even better stories down the road. Below you can read the letter from the Lucasfilm Editor about the delays, which teases some new details along with more announcements coming this Summer:

What High Republic story are you looking forward to most?
