Xbox Announced An Official Mobile Device

Xbox teamed up with ROG Ally again, this time to make an official Xbox handheld unit.

The Xbox Rog Ally will run Windows 11 and have direct access to Xbox titles, both through streaming and native to the unit. They revealed two variations, the first running a AMD handheld processor, the AMD AI Z2 Extreme. A second version non-X variant is powered by the Z2 A and will be much less powerful.

The handheld has a chip with a built-in NPU capable of 50 TOPs of AI performance, which means it will also function with Co-pilot, which is currently bridging its way over to Xbox. The display will include a 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate and VRR support through Freesync Premium.

Xbox will also re work the Xbox app to include a new mobile mode, which the device will boot straight into.

The Xbox showcase didn’t list a release date, but heavily hinted at a holiday season release. The current ROG Ally comes in at $799, so we can expect a similar price for this version as well, but no price was announced either.
