Our first look at the upcoming Friday the 13th series from A24 has hit, offering horror fans a glimpse at where it all began.
Friday the 13th fans haven’t had much to go on with the franchise being so famously tied up in various rights situations. Thankfully, hope arrived with the announcement of a new series called Crystal Lake. While it took a few years for things to finally get moving, filming kicked off last year with a solid cast and today brings our first real look at what they’ve come up with!
Yep, that sure looks like Friday the 13th! Not to mention Linda Cardellini looks amazing as the homicidal Pam (and amazing in general). It’s a short teaser, but between the production quality and overall tone, it feels like they may have gotten this one right.
A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, the series follows single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?
All eight episodes of Crystal Lake hits Peacock on October 15, 2026.
