A24 has revealed the first trailer for Alex Garland’s next film, Civil War, which asks “What kind of American are you?”
If you tell me there’s a new Alex Garland film (28 Days Later, Annihilation) on the horizon, I’m already sold. I really don’t need much more than that to get me in the theater. That doesn’t make this first trailer for Civil War any less impressive:
It’s chilling in a number of ways, while offering the bigger thrills of a war movie. Personally, the “What kind of American are you” line is going to live rent-free in my head for the foreseeable future. What a terrifying thought, that’s instantly gripping for audiences. This is gonna be a good one.
