Godzilla is Back and Bigger Than Ever in First Teaser for ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’

The first teaser for Godzilla Minus Zero is here and it hints that the conflict with Godzilla is far from over.

Fans have been (im)patiently waiting all day for the first teaser footage from Godzilla Minus Zero to go public. Well it has and while it’s very short, it does give a number of hints about what’s to come in the follow up to Godzilla Minus One. The film is scheduled to hit North American theaters on November 6, 2026.

Ryunosuke Kamiki (Koichi Shikishima) and Minami Hamabe (Noriko Oishi) will be reprising their roles from the previous film. Watch the video below to see what else is being teased for the film:

As you can see in the teaser, there’s been a two year jump in time since the previous film and due to continued nuclear testing, Godzilla is back, literally bigger than ever if that one shot is anything to go by. Considering how formidable the kaiju was in Godzilla Minus One, it will be interesting to see how he’ll be taken down this time.

I am curious to see what is up with the floating debris in the sky. It looks like a bunch of rubble and houses floating high in the air. This is either a newly developed power of Godzilla or the work of some newly introduced kaiju that we haven’t seen onscreen yet. Regardless, if that is being revealed in this short teaser, it’s terrifying to think what’s being held back.

One final thought: as Godzilla is seen walking past the Statue of Liberty in the final seconds of the teaser, does that mean we get to see Godzilla wreaking destructive havoc in New York City?

What do you think of the new teaser?
