Shawn Levy is the latest director to be added to the list of potential Star Wars movies…once he’s done with Deadpool 3 and Stranger Things!
There is quite a LONG list of directors who are supposedly developing Star Wars films for Lucasfilm. From Rian Johnson, to JD Dilliard (though that has JUST been confirmed to no longer be happening), Taika Waititi, Patty Jenkins, and most recently Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy!
There’s a lot that’s been discussed, but official updates on all of them have been almost non-existent. As such, I can certainly understand any fan who goes into this latest bit of news feeling a bit skeptical. Regardless, today brings news from Deadline that Shawn Levy is in talks to direct a Star Wars film for Disney/Lucasfilm.
The Canadian director is already booked to handle Deadpool 3 for Marvel but once that’s done (and filming on the final season of Stranger Things is completed) he’ll be turning his focus completely to the galaxy far, far away.
As seems to be the norm, details on what the film will be are hard to come by, but HOPEFULLY Lucafilm will start giving fans official information on theatrical Star Wars projects soon.
