The next possible Game of Thrones prequel to get the greenlight at HBO seems to be the story behind Aegon I’s conquest of Westeros, according to Variety.

The report says the project is being “actively discussed” and “in its very early stages,” but also doesn’t come as a shock considering the success of House of the Dragon despite the massive fallout following the finale of the original Game of Thrones series. Aegon I and his conquest of Westeros is discussed often through both series, especially in the latest, as we see the life of Aegon II play out in HOTD.

The Family Man King, An Ode to Viserys Targaryen

The show would reportedly take place about 300 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones and “tell the story of how Aegon and his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys, used their army and their three dragons to conquer six of the seven kingdoms on Westeros with the exception of Dorne. In doing so, Aegon I became the first king of Westeros, the first to sit on the Iron Throne, and the founder of the Targaryen Dynasty,” Variety reports.

Other possible spin-offs of the franchise include a Jon Snow sequel series, bringing back the beloved Kit Harrington in his breakout role.
