I always knew that one day, I would write a tribute to my favorite game of all time in the form of an article. There’s no better time, as it’s Nintendo Exclusives month in Gamerlinx town and I’m pulling in, parking my rhino, and telling you why I think Donkey Kong Country 2 was one of the greatest Nintendo exclusives to grace this earth.

All sorts of new and amazing games are springing up on Steam Greenlight and Kickstarter.  These are great tools for game developers to present new ideas to the masses, and provides gamers the chance to try out something different. Not all games have a fairy tale ending, however, and sometimes gamers get burned on the promise of something intriguing, only to be completely ignored and cast aside after helping to fund the project.  Such is the case with The Stomping Land, and we decided to look into it.

Not every cool thing to come from SDCC is related to movies or comics.  The show is also host to a bunch of really sweet collectibles and toy reveals, and let's face it, when fans are passionate about something, they typically want to show it off.  One of the cool new action figures was revealed from Square Enix (and their Play Arts-Kai line of figures) in the form the Batman, reimagined by Final Fantasy artists.  Come inside to check it out and learn more about this amazing creation.  

Nowadays, with major advances in technology CGI is playing a huge role in the movie making industry. Of course sometimes creators can go a little too far with CGI making the realistic looking aliens or monsters not so realistic looking and instead creepy or annoying (see Jar Jar Binks) but when they get it right it is nearly perfect. 

Gamers will undoubtedly remember the huge success of Grand Theft Auto V and will be delighted to hear that this fall the game will be released on the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC (though it was officially announced last night during Sony's E3 2014 press conference).  Come inside to check out a new trailer of the game running on PS4!

Well folks, today is the day that a lot of us have been waiting for since new Star Wars films were announced a while ago.  Lucasfilm/J.J. Abrams have officially revealed the cast of the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, confirming previous rumors about some actors, and revealing that the original crew is returning!  Come inside to check out the cast list.

Sorry for no reviews last week but I'm doing some cosplay crafting. The good news is I finally found a Black Widow form the Cap 2 line and a Whirl from the Transformers Generations line. Later this week I'll have a look at the new Star Wars The Black Series Obi-Wan and Luke Skywalker in Bespin gear and the completed build a figure of the S.H.E.I.L.D. Mandroid.

Many people were upset and disappointed this year when Leonardo DiCaprio lost his fourth and fifth Oscar (Best Actor and Best Picture for The Wolf of Wall Street which he also produced) this year to Matthew McConaughey. While I would have loved for him to win, I knew that it wasn't going to happen. The Academy tends to pick winners that make one excellent movie, like Jean Dujardin for The Artist, Halle Berry for Monster's Ball, rather than actors constantly producing knockout performances in every film. Sure, there are exceptions like Daniel Day-Lewis and Cate Blanchett, but they are rare. "Why give the gold to someone who will continue to create a career of golden performances even if they lose?" That's the Academy's mantra. I think we all know deep down that eventually Leo's Oscar curse will break and until then we will continue to watch and root for him.

Nintendo’s latest addition to the Mario Kart series will be with us on the 30th of May, and has 7 additional shelled racers available. 

It’s Valentines day again and here at Cinelinx we are feeling all loved up. Take a look at 5 of our favourite video game couples and what we think makes them so perfect for each other.

Many retro games are notoriously difficult and avoiding imminent death is common place when playing a game like Battletoads or Altered Beast. Here we shine the spotlight on 5 Retro pests that further amped up the difficulty and perhaps caused us to sprout a few grey hairs.
